Live Action Short
A group of young teenagers embark on a journey that transports them too quickly away from innocence and towards the stark realities of sex, adulthood, and sacrifice.
Feature Documentary
Pre-teen peer pressure, high school heartbreak and adult disillusionment on the football fields, factories, and fair grounds of small town America. A luscious and gritty verite film that captures the mood and melody of Midwest life.
Short Film
Meet some of New York's few remaining pigeon breeders and explore a world that exists on Brooklyn's rooftops, where men obsessed with their birds have found a connection with nature and the sky above them, one that contrasts greatly with the bustling streets only a few flights below.
Animated Short
Ledo and Ix are friends on an unknown quest, scaling steep mountains, sailing choppy seas, avoiding dens of monsters and existential voids. Sleeping under the stars makes them philosophical, and sometimes they wonder if they should’ve chosen different careers, or if they’re really friends at all. kidcandrive.com
Short Film
“Liberty is the absence of ideas, that's what I like best. I've fallen back to the things I used to like, which are not ideas, and I cultivate them. They're feelings, or rather impressions, the impression of well being. The impression of understanding. That's the real life, or at least something close to it. You go along with it.”
Shorts Program
Rooftop's annual celebration of the weird and wonderful country we live in. A sunset party with free drinks, a fantastic fireworks view, live music, and short film comedies, dramas and political documentaries.
Shorts Program
Some call it punk rock, some call it grass roots, but labels aside, NYC-based Animation Block Party is dedicated to exhibiting the world's best independent, professional and student animated short films.
Short Film
Traditional nomadic cattle breeders in the Niger desert, one of the harshest regions of the world, use all their strength, guile and determination to find water. Relying on the prognostications of goats, the magical properties of anteater eyes, and their own dangerous labors, they lower themselves into narrow pits hundreds of feet deep, spending years at a time chasing water from a single well.
Short Film
Machines that speak were supposed to be convenient, not cruel. www.prosperderoos.com
